Build custom dashboards

Save role-specific dashboards from widgets, with their own default period, comparison and filters.

Saved dashboards let each site keep layouts for different audiences, such as marketing or performance.

  1. Use the Dashboard switcher on a site’s dashboard. Without saved dashboards it shows the Standard dashboard.

  2. Select New dashboard, name it, and choose a Starting point: Standard layout, Marketing, Product, Performance or Blank.

  3. Under Dashboard settings, set the Default period, Comparison (No comparison, Previous period or Previous year) and any Dashboard filters.

  4. Select Add widget and choose a type: Key figures, Trend chart, Breakdown list, Where (map), Weekly rhythm, Goals, Funnel, Retention or Web Vitals. A widget can use Period for this widget to override the dashboard period.

  5. Arrange widgets with Move earlier, Move later, Make narrower and Make wider. With the keyboard, hold Alt and press the arrow keys: up and down move, left and right resize. Widths are in 12 columns.

  6. Select Create dashboard or Save changes. Use Manage this dashboard to Duplicate, Set as default or Delete.

What you should see: a live preview with your data while editing, and All changes saved after saving. The default dashboard opens first for the site.

  • Up to 50 dashboards per site, 24 widgets per dashboard and 10 filters per dashboard.
  • A layout may not exceed 32 KiB, and widget titles are up to 80 characters.
  • Funnel widgets need an existing saved funnel.
  • Filters are unavailable on anonymous-mode sites.
