Google Search Console

Import search queries and pages from Google Search Console into a site.

Connect a site to a Search Console property to see which queries and pages bring clicks and impressions from Google Search.

Cloud instances skip this section. On a self-hosted instance, the integration stays hidden until you set both credentials.

  1. In Google Cloud, create an OAuth client of the web application type and enable the Search Console API for the project.

  2. Add this authorized redirect URI, replacing the host with your SUPERMETRY_BASE_URL:

    https://analytics.example.com/api/private/integrations/search-console/callback
  3. Set the client values and restart Supermetry:

    Terminal window
    SUPERMETRY_GSC_CLIENT_ID=your-client-id
    SUPERMETRY_GSC_CLIENT_SECRET=your-client-secret
  1. Open your site, then Settings → Integrations.

  2. Select Connect on Google Search Console. Enter the property exactly as Search Console names it, such as sc-domain:example.com or a full URL prefix.

  3. Optionally choose how many days to backfill, from 1 to 485. The default is 28.

  4. Sign in with a Google account that can read that property and approve read-only access.

What you should see: the connection shows as connected, and queries and pages appear after the first sync.

  • Daily rows of query, page, country and device, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position.
  • Search Console data lags, so the importer stays two days behind today and refetches the last three days on every run. A day is replaced as a whole, so reruns never duplicate rows and revised numbers win.
  • Each run fetches at most 7 days per connection, so a long backfill finishes over several runs.
  • Storage keeps the top 5,000 rows per day by clicks, 490 days, and at most 3,000,000 rows per site. The oldest days are dropped first.
  • The only scope requested is read-only access to Search Console. Tokens are encrypted and not shown.

Owners and admins can re-import the last 1 to 485 days. The request is limited to 5 per 10 minutes and runs in bounded windows.

The Search Console report lists top queries or pages for a date range of up to 366 days, with clicks, impressions, CTR and impression-weighted position. Search queries are never shown through public share links.

Select Disconnect on the integration. This deletes the stored tokens and every imported row for the site, and asks Google to revoke the grant. The action is recorded in the audit log.
