Update Supermetry

Update a binary or Docker installation without replacing its configuration or data.

Update Supermetry while keeping the existing configuration, secret key and stored data.

  1. For an installer-managed deployment, rerun the installer:

    Terminal window
    curl -fsSL https://github.com/velixio/supermetry/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

  2. For a manually managed downloaded Docker image, change to its install directory and recreate the service:

    Terminal window
    cd /opt/supermetry
    docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

The installer keeps the existing secret key and configuration. Docker Compose keeps its named application and PostgreSQL volumes. Database migrations run automatically when Supermetry starts.

What you should see: Supermetry restarts, reaches /readyz, and the existing dashboard data remains available.
