Read the retention report

Group visitors into cohorts and see when they return.

Use Retention to compare cohorts and see how many visitors return.

  1. Open Retention from the sidebar.

  2. If profiles are enabled and you can read them, choose Anonymous day or Identity profile under Identify visitors by.

  3. Set Group cohorts by to Day, Week or Month.

  4. Read each row’s Cohort and Size, then move across the cells to compare returning counts and percentages.

What you should see: a retention table shows each cohort’s size and return rate for later periods or sessions.
