Set data retention

Choose how long each site keeps raw sessions and events and understand automatic purging.

Set a raw-data retention window separately for each site.

  1. In the dashboard, open Settings → Site settings for the site.

  2. Under Retention, choose 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 365 days, or Forever.

  3. Select Save changes.

  4. Keep Supermetry running so its hourly retention job can remove expired data. Finite retention classes are stored in date partitions; after the configured window and one day of closing slack, expired event and session partitions are detached and dropped.

    Forever partitions are not expired by this job. Aggregate rollups remain available for long-range reports, while raw session and event views are limited to the selected window.

What you should see: reopening Site settings shows the selected value under Retention.
